Willing to See our Heart

When I was a child, I loved playing school.  I stood in front of my pupils and wrote on my little chalkboard.  I loved the authority of my chalk hitting the board; no matter what the words were, it was the fact I was playing the role of teacher that I so enjoyed!  Strange how we loved playing school, but really always wanted to be out of school when we were in it!

Many enjoy the idea of Christianity and so are like those who play Christianity as a game.

A game player will not be willing to examine themselves through the lens of the Word of God.

To us, who desire to be of the School of Christ, will subject ourselves willingly under the tutorship of Christ.  One of the areas for us to see (what is in our hearts) is to listen.

For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

When we pay attention to our words and what comes out of our mouths, we will learn about our love, devotion, and faith in Christ.

“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. Brood[ of vipers!  How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.  A good man out of the good treasure [of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.  Matt 12:33-35

If we say we love Jesus and yet our lives do not reveal our love for Him, we lie to ourselves and God.

The truth sets us free.  Our desire is to walk in truth in the light of Christ.  As we do, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin; 1 John 1:6-10.  Amen!
