There is a difference between sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to the lost around you to battling Christ’s word to those near to you.
“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.” – Matt 7
I have come to see more often than not, that those who have assumed an outward appearance of Christianity, calling themselves Christ’s own – reveal themselves to be liars. They do so, when the Word in truth is spoken to them and their reaction will be anger/offense, or they will not have a clue in what you are saying. Why? Because one, they are dead to the Spirit and cannot hear His Word that brings life, and two, because they are of the world, they hate the Word that is spoken and will react to it because it convicts them of sin. For the sake of peace, your only way of interacting with such people is on a superficial level with treading lightly when it comes to the word of God. This is not how we as brothers and sisters in the Lord are to relate, as we gladly share the Word with one another and will receive the rebuke of the Lord just as equally as we would a word of encouragement.
We are instructed not to keep company with such ones. For they deny Christ and lie that they do. They are false in their heart though they may say otherwise. To keep company with them is to be associated with their hypocrisy.
As we put up with people like this in hope of them ‘getting it’ we are met with frustration, exhaustion and put ourselves at risk if left to continue. The word instructs us not to count them as believers in the Lord when they reject the truth time and time again, and their lifestyle proves contrary to the Word. If possible as the Lord leads, we let them know that we do not count them as a brother or sister in the Lord because they do not have the witness of the Spirit of God in them. We may continue to love them and pray for them, but this distinction must be made for our peace and for their soul’s sake. 2 Cor 6:14-18, Ephes 5:1-7

Very true!! This scripture from Matthew 7 is so often misunderstood, but you’re giving a very good perspective.Seeing this correctly makes you realize with how few we really are… It’s sobering, but essential, so we don’t waste time and energy the wrong way.

I agree with you dear brother, since we are few there is an especially unique appreciation we have for one another, and in fact, by no means take this for granted rather we take pleasure and joy to have such fellowship!
