Our Father, You stand above all things, good and evil – and Your voice goes out dispatching commands to the host of heaven and nothing is done without your permission for all things serve Your purpose. Glory and Honor belong to You.
Today we are faced with our mortality in how fragile life is and are met with waves of fear that seek to enter our sanctuary. Help us to remain rooted in You so we will not be moved. We will continue to look to Your Word as our guide and comfort and You will lead us to still waters where we may drink and to green pasture so may take our rest. Though we walk in this valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil. For we are found in the palm of your Hand. The enemy does not touch us with his threats for our trust is in You. Remind us that this earth is not our home and stir in us our longing to be with you forever. Though we feel pain and sorrow as your rod and staff bear upon us, we know it is but for a moment. We are comforted by Your Spirit as He reminds us of Jesus who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, and so we too may follow after Him looking to joy before us. In the presence of the evil one and enemy – we stand together as One with you Father in Your Son to enjoy fellowship as we dine on Your Word together. We count it all joy in the trials and tribulations in this life, even unto death – because our names are written in the Lambs book of life. We ask you to give to us eyes to see You and ears to hear you as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Amen.
