First the Desire

To desire the Lord – is the beginning of good things!   For we must desire Him before He will come to us.  We must want Him.  He never comes to those who do not want Him 2 Tim 2:12.  If we do not yet have this desire we need to begin there by asking God to give us the desire to want Him and to not stop asking until we get it.  For when we desire the Lord, we will begin to seek Him; Psalm 9:10.  In our seeking Him, He will teach us how to live in Him and to know what being free from the power of sin means through Jesus.  We will be blessed in our walk for His mark of approval will be upon us; 2 Tim 2:19, Ephes 1:5-7.  Though many things and people may come against us, He will always give to us in the hour of our need so we may resist, endure or overcome.  As we desire and seek Jesus He will feed us continually by His Word – and we will be nourished and strengthened, He will give to us His peace that the world cannot know nor comprehend.  We will be sustained and He will lead us in all our ways.

How does one seek after God?

-We Seek God, through His Son an He will open to us through His Spirit, who He is through the Scriptures.                                                                                                                 -Seek Him in prayer making it an ongoing dialogue in honesty and supplication and praise.                                                                                                                                                  -Seek God in obedience to what you learn.

Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.  Isaiah 55:6

“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord…” Jer 29:13-14a
