Pride walks with assurance in the path it chooses. His nose and head held high, above all others. For he is right in his own eyes, and is even better than those he points his fingers at. He mocks each with much disdain for their futile stupidity. ‘Do it how I say,’ he says, ‘for this is what is right and better!’ He does not see though what lies ahead, because he is so busy looking at himself with such adoration. Nor does he see the mirror of Truth that reflects truly who he is. If he did he would see a very different picture for in truth he is a grotesque obese blob of dung that stinks the stench of death and is attractive to only one – the Lord of the flies – the devil and all his host. For it is they who clap their hands to him and spur him on. For they are leading him into the pit that will take him down and if they have it their way – for good.

But the humble in spirit will retain honor.
1 John 2:16; For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
