The complexities of today are bearing down upon those who uphold the Christian message, Jesus Christ. Yet it is not as though we are left on our own for we have all the resources of heaven to endure these last days! One of them being wisdom. Wisdom is of God and is one of the powerful attributes of His Spirit (Isaiah 11:2) and He offers it to us, in fact He calls us to ask for it! When you ask for wisdom, and begin walking in it, knowledge and understanding are not far behind, for they are a trio and work excellently together. Wisdom is like a rare jewel – and only few possess it, because there is a counterfeit that has stolen many away and that is the wisdom of this world. The problem with the wisdom of this world is that it operates – anti-Christ James 3:14-16. We are often met with great opposition if we hold to a Biblical world view like never before within Christendom because of this. These two wisdoms will always clash thus why you have such confusion among this community. The book of Proverbs is an excellent account of wisdom and the resource that it truly is. If there were ever an hour that wisdom is needed it would be now.
My child, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path.
When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you, to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things, from those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness; who rejoice in doing evil, and delight in the perversity of the wicked; whose ways are crooked, and who are devious in their paths; to deliver you from the immoral woman. Proverb2:1-16a
I have compiled a list of what we gain from getting wisdom – that is detailed in the book of Proverbs:

- You will not fear
- Your sleep will be sweet
- The Lord will be your confidence in times of sudden terror or trouble from the wicked
- Promotion
- Deliverance from evil
- Health to your flesh and strength to your bones
- Wisdom speaks excellent & right things
- Wisdom speaks truth & uprightness – and will be plain to those whose ear is for hearing it
- Counsel, sound wisdom
- Understanding, strength
- Wisdom loves those who love her
- Justice
- The inheritance of wealth and the filling of their treasuries
- Blessing – to those who keep the ways of wisdom
- Obtains the favor of the Lord
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. James 3:17
I don’t know about you, but I think we all need wisdom and should never stop seeking it out to be our resource. God is so good to give us such great riches and prosperity in that of wisdom. May we seek it like the world seeks after the riches of this world – may we desire it like one desires financial gain!
